Duties & Responsibilities
- Contract & project support (70%): assist with contract administration and day-to-day project tasks; draft layouts, P&IDs, and project drawings; prepare and manage project documentation and data packs; support engineering activities across all project stages; assist with logistics, quality control, and compliance
- Field service team support (15%): shadow service technicians to gain practical exposure to boilers, burners, and combustion systems; prepare job packs, site documentation, and schedules; support coordination with field teams and monitor service quality and safety
- Administration & reporting (15%): support departmental coordination; assist with finance, stores, and procurement tasks; prepare and maintain project reports; assist with data capturing, tracking, and analysis
Experience & Qualifications
- B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering (advantageous), or B.Tech / N.Dip in the same fields
- Project management courses advantageous
- 2–5 years' experience in a project engineering and/or project management role, preferably in a similar field
- Advantageous: hands-on experience with steam and hot water boiler systems, pressure vessels, and steam/condensate systems
- Advantageous: familiarity with codes and standards (ISO 9001, ISO 3834, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, SANS 347, SANS 329 / SANS 13577)
- Strong computer literacy, CAD familiarity, and MS Projects experience advantageous
- Valid driver's licence and own transport required
