Truck Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial trucks
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults efficiently
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime
• Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles meet roadworthy and safety standards
• Attend to breakdowns and field service when required
• Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working order
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard while complying with company safety procedures

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal Trade Test essential)
• Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience working on commercial trucks
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, braking systems, suspension, electrical and pneumatic systems
• Proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience using diagnostic equipment will be advantageous
• Valid Code B driver's licence (Code EC will be advantageous)
