Employment Information

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience as a Solar Electrical Technician, PV Technician, Electrician or in a similar electrical role.
  • Previous experience within the solar PV industry.
  • Experience with the installation, commissioning and fault finding of solar PV systems.
  • Experience working with solar inverters.
  • Experience with battery storage systems will be advantageous.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment.
  • Good understanding of electrical installations and fault finding.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites

Duties, but not limited to:
Installation & Electrical Work
  • Install solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage systems and associated electrical equipment.
  • Route, terminate and connect electrical cabling in accordance with project specifications.
  • Ensure installations comply with applicable electrical and safety standards.
Commissioning
  • Perform pre-commissioning inspections and testing.
  • Commission and configure solar inverters and related equipment.
  • Conduct system start-up, testing and performance verification.
  • Assist Engineers in ensuring systems perform according to design specifications.
Fault Finding & Maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems, inverters and associated electrical equipment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Replace faulty electrical components where required.
  • Respond to site call-outs and technical issues when necessary.
Quality Assurance
  • Identify and rectify installation defects before project handover.
  • Ensure work complies with project specifications and company quality standards.
  • Assist with final inspections and system handovers.
Site & Project Support
  • Conduct site inspections.
  • Assist Engineers with technical evaluations and site activities.
  • Work closely with Site Supervisors and Project Managers to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.
  • Monitor workmanship and maintain high installation standards.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete installation, commissioning and maintenance reports.
  • Record test results, faults and corrective actions.
  • Assist with commissioning packs and project handover documentation.
Health & Safety
  • Adhere to all electrical regulations, company policies and health & safety procedures.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.
