Our client is an established accounting and auditing firm offering exposure to a wide range of clients across various industries. They are seeking a driven SAIPA Article Clerk to complete their training contract while gaining practical experience across all core areas of an accounting practice.
Responsibilities:- Perform bookkeeping and monthly accounting up to trial balance
- Capture and process financial transactions accurately
- Assist with preparation of annual financial statements
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and income tax returns
- Support SARS eFiling and liaise with SARS on queries
- Assist with payroll processing and statutory submissions (UIF, PAYE, SDL)
- Support audit and independent review engagements
- Prepare working papers and supporting documentation
- Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients
- Assist senior accountants with ad hoc tasks and client deliverables
Requirements:- BCom Accounting or similar qualification (completed or in progress)
- Intention to register or currently registered for SAIPA articles
- Strong academic record (advantageous)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage)
- Good understanding of basic accounting and tax principles
