Senior Accountant

Employment Information

Our client is a growing manufacturing group operating across multiple entities, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, inventory control, and service delivery. They are seeking a hands-on Accountant to take ownership of the full financial function across 6 entities. Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and reconcile the Cash Book to bank statements and General Ledger
  • Reconcile all General Ledger and clearing accounts
  • Monitor ledger accounts and ensure correct allocations
  • Prepare and process monthly journals, including accruals and adjustments
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and process depreciation
  • Manage daily day-end processes and ensure accurate posting to the General Ledger
  • Monitor and control inventory movements in a workshop/manufacturing environment
  • Ensure accurate allocation of parts and materials to jobs for costing and invoicing
  • Perform monthly stock and WIP reconciliations
  • Ensure jobs are closed timeously after invoicing
  • Investigate and resolve stock variances and discrepancies
  • Coordinate and manage annual stock counts
  • Ensure integrity of inventory valuation
  • Process payroll and statutory deductions
  • Manage leave records and absenteeism tracking
  • Load and manage weekly and monthly payments
  • Manage daily cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
  • Control all EFT payments
  • Process local and foreign supplier payments, including imports
  • Manage multiple bank accounts (25+)
  • Work closely with Debtors and Creditors functions
  • Prepare monthly Trial Balance, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet
  • Manage month-end and year-end processes
  • Prepare audit packs and liaise with external auditors
  • Assist with budgets and forecasting
  • Participate in weekly management meetings
  • Manage SARS eFiling (VAT, PAYE, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with CIPC, BEE, and statutory requirements
  • Maintain company compliance documentation
  • Monitor and manage insurance policies, premiums, and claims
Requirements:
  • Relevant Accounting qualification
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment
  • Strong understanding of inventory, WIP, and job costing
  • Solid experience with SARS eFiling and statutory compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple entities simultaneously
  • Strong Excel and accounting systems experience
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to operate in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
