Our client is an established manufacturing and distribution business supplying a wide range of outdoor cooking, braai, and lifestyle products to major South African retailers. They are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to drive operational efficiency, manage production teams, and ensure consistent output across multiple product lines.
Responsibilities:- Oversee daily production operations across multiple product lines
- Manage and lead production supervisors and shop floor teams
- Ensure production targets, deadlines, and output requirements are consistently met
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Implement and monitor production workflows, SOPs, and quality standards
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
- Monitor production planning and scheduling in line with demand and capacity
- Ensure optimal utilisation of labour, machinery, and materials
- Work closely with procurement and stores to ensure material availability
- Ensure product quality meets required standards and specifications
- Oversee health & safety compliance within the production environment
- Track and report on production performance, output, and efficiencies
- Provide regular feedback to senior management on operational performance
Requirements:- Proven experience as a Production Manager in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow optimisation, and output management
- Experience managing supervisors and large production teams
- Ability to work in a high-volume, multi-product environment
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Experience in metal, fabrication, or related manufacturing environments (advantageous)
