Summit Printers Limited is looking for a Skilled and reliable Machine Operator – Large Format Printer to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining large format printing equipment to produce high-quality signage, banners, branding materials, displays and other printed products in line with customer specifications and production requirements.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience operating large format digital printers, a strong eye for detail, good technical ability, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate large format digital printing machines efficiently and safely.
Set up machines according to job specifications, including media, ink, print settings and dimensions.
Prepare files and ensure correct print settings before production.
Monitor print quality throughout the production process and identify defects or inconsistencies.
Perform routine cleaning, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of printing equipment.
Ensure accurate colour reproduction, sizing, alignment and finishing of printed materials.
Conduct quality checks before releasing completed work to the next stage of production.
Manage printing materials, including vinyl, banners, canvas, paper and other substrates.
Minimise material wastage and optimise machine utilisation.
Maintain accurate production records and report machine faults or technical issues promptly.
Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure jobs are completed according to specifications and deadlines.
Follow all workplace health, safety and equipment operating procedures.
Keep the work area, machines and equipment clean and organised.
Perform any other production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Certificate/Diploma in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, Production, Engineering or a related field will be an added advantage.
At least 2 years' experience operating large format digital printing machines.
Knowledge of photoshop
Basic understanding of colour management and print quality control.
Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
Good computer skills and familiarity with graphic design/printing software will be an advantage.
