Focussing its work on children without parental care and children in families in difficult circumstances, the organisation has a wide range of programmes, which include: Children’s Villages, Youth Facilities, Family & Community Strengthening Programmes, Kindergartens, Schools, a Mother and Child Clinic, Vocational Training Centres, a Youth Empowerment project, a Monetizing Waste Project and a Gender Equality project.

The institution delivers competency-based education aimed at strengthening child protection, community development, education, and social service delivery.

LECTURER: PUBLIC HEALTH & MENTAL HEALTH FOR SOCIAL WORK

POSITION SUMMARY (GENERAL)

The lecturers will be responsible for delivering academic and practical instruction in their respective modules within the Social Work Programme. The roles include preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures, assessing students, and ensuring learners acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies relevant to social work practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Deliver lectures in public health and mental health modules 
2. Integrate theory with social work practice 
3. Develop and assess student learning outcomes 
4. Promote psychosocial support and community health knowledge 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Mental Health, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or related field 
2. Master’s degree strongly preferred 
3. Teaching qualification is an added advantage 
4. Experience in tertiary or adult education 
5. NAQAA accreditation is an added advantage.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (ALL POSITIONS)

1. Strong communication and facilitation skills 
2. Ability to work independently and collaboratively 
3. Experience in adult or tertiary education 
4. Strong classroom management skills 
5. ICT and digital teaching skills are an advantage 
6. Commitment to safeguarding and institutional values of SOS PTPC
