About the Human Resource Officer Role The Human Resource Officer will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures aligned with company objectives and Zambian labour legislation. This full-time position requires a candidate with integrity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential employee information effectively.
Key Responsibilities for Human Resource Officer Jobs in Kitwe Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems in compliance with local labour laws. Manage and safeguard accurate, confidential employee records and personnel files.
Prepare employment contracts, appointment and confirmation letters, disciplinary correspondence, and other HR documentation. Support payroll processing and ensure timely compliance with statutory obligations such as NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE, and Workers' Compensation.
Oversee employee attendance, leave management, timekeeping, and other HR-related records. Address employee relations issues including grievances, disciplinary cases, absenteeism, and workplace conduct, providing appropriate guidance.
Assist with recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction processes. Coordinate staff training, performance management, employee development, and welfare initiatives.
Ensure effective communication and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct. Provide HR support to employees at drilling sites, field operations, and other company locations.
Liaise with management and relevant authorities on labour, employment, and statutory matters as needed. Prepare periodic HR reports, workforce statistics, and management updates.
Promote a positive workplace culture, employee engagement, and uphold professional standards across the organization. Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with employment and labour regulations.
Qualifications and Skills Required Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related discipline. Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in HR or administrative roles.
Strong knowledge of Zambian labour laws and HR best practices. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software applications. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
