The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) seeks a Head of Talent Identification for its Technical Department. This permanent, full-time role reports to the Technical Director and will design, lead and implement a nationwide scouting and player-assessment framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Develop a unified talent-identification strategy, clear scouting criteria and standardised assessment tools.
– Recruit, train and coordinate regional and national scouts, supported by a central reporting system.
– Link identified players with academies, elite competitions and national-team pathways, while maintaining a performance-tracking database.
– Build relationships with FIFA, clubs, schools, regional associations and community football organisations.
– Report talent-identification outcomes, manage scouting budgets and support funding initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
– Extensive knowledge of football structures and talent-development systems.
– A current high-level coaching qualification recognised by CAF, UEFA or FIFA.
– Proven scouting and talent-identification experience, including youth development and academy systems.
– Familiarity with women’s football and inclusive scouting practices.
– At least three years’ management experience in a federation, regional association or professional club.
– Strong stakeholder relationships and advanced IT/database skills for player tracking.
