Employment Information

Duties / Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves and pilot circuits.
  • Test hydraulic pressure and flow, control contamination and resolve system faults.
  • Repair boom, hoist, feed, rotation, mast and dump functions.
  • Maintain mechanical parts including bearings, shafts, pins, bushes and linkages.
  • Find and repair 24V electrical faults involving solenoids, relays, sensors and wiring.
  • Service and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, turbochargers, cooling and charging systems.
  • Investigate low power, overheating, stalling, leaks, vibration and abnormal noise.
  • Maintain service records, engine-hour logs and preventative maintenance schedules.

Requirements

  • Strong hydraulic fault-finding experience.
  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
  • Mechanical, electrical and diesel repair experience.
  • Background in mining, drilling, earthmoving or high-pressure hydraulic equipment.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Able to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns.

Education

  • Relevant Millwright, Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Equipment or Hydraulic Technician qualification preferred.
  • Proven practical experience may be considered.

Salary

If you're confident that you fit the role, let's chat! The salary is open for discussion. It will be market related based on qualifications, skills, and experience. The proposed salary range is around R70k per month.
