WAITER / WAITRESS

Job Purpose

To provide friendly, professional and efficient food and beverage service, ensuring a positive dining experience for every guest.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating.
• Present menus and explain available food and beverage options.
• Take accurate food and drink orders.
• Enter orders correctly into the relevant system or communicate them to the kitchen/bar.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
• Check on guests during meals to ensure satisfaction.
• Respond to guest requests and complaints professionally.
• Clear and reset tables efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas.
• Process bills and payments accurately where required.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff.
• Ensure tables are properly set before service.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and daily specials.
• Follow food hygiene and safety standards.
• Promote additional menu items where appropriate.
• Support opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Secondary education or hospitality qualification preferred.
• Previous restaurant or hotel-service experience is an advantage.
• Customer-service experience is desirable.
