Background

ITM Zambia is seeking a Sales Lead responsible for driving new client acquisition, business growth, market expansion, and revenue generation within the assigned country. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, qualified pipeline, developing strategic partnerships, strengthening client relationships, and executing country-level business development strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the country business development strategy in line with regional and global objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities, sectors, and customer segments to drive sustainable growth.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Drive revenue growth through structured client acquisition and business development initiatives.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals, contracts, and partnership agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in high-level meetings, industry forums, and networking events.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.
  • Support market entry strategies, including feasibility assessments and business cases.
  • Promote ITM products and services to existing multi-country clients and prospective clients within the assigned market.
  • Oversee implementation of new products, services, or solutions in the country market.
  • Work closely with internal teams (operations, finance, marketing, HR, and technical teams) to support business development activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Managing Director and Country Managers.
  • Prepare regular business development reports, forecasts, and performance updates.
  • Track KPIs and ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and local regulations.
  • Represent ITM at industry events, professional forums, conferences, and networking platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field (master’s degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum of [7-10] years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles.
  • Proven experience in country-level or regional business development.
  • Strong understanding of the local market, regulatory environment, and business culture.
  • Proficiency in English or French (fluency in both is an advantage)
  • Proven ability to drive business growth and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Organizational and time management abilities.
