We specialise in valves, piping, instrumentation, and flow control products, acting as an authorised channel partner for Baker Hughes valve solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa. The Sales Engineer will be based in Ndola and will regularly travel to mine sites across the Copperbelt and North-Western Province to engage with mining customers and contractors.
Key Responsibilities for Sales Engineer Jobs in Ndola Develop new business opportunities for valves, piping, fittings, flanges, instrumentation, and flow control equipment within mining companies and processing plants. Conduct frequent site visits to mines, concentrators, smelters, and refineries to assess process requirements, installed equipment, and upcoming shutdown schedules.
Review technical enquiries and collaborate with the bid team to prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals. Follow up on submitted quotations, negotiate terms, and convert proposals into confirmed orders.
Maintain Petropipe’s registration on vendor lists and tender portals for mining companies, ensuring all documentation remains current. Manage existing accounts by providing after-sales support and coordinating timely deliveries to client sites.
Document all customer interactions, enquiries, and proposals in the CRM system, and submit weekly activity plans and reports. Gather and report market intelligence including new projects, expansions, shutdowns, competitor activities, and customer budgets.
Qualifications and Experience Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical, Mining, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline. 3 to 6 years of experience in B2B technical sales or engineering/maintenance roles within the mining industry.
Established network of contacts with mining companies and contractors in the Copperbelt and North-Western Province. Strong knowledge of industrial valves, piping, fittings, and flanges.
Ability to interpret datasheets, material take-offs (MTOs), and technical drawings. Valid Zambian driving licence and willingness to undertake frequent travel, including multi-day mine site visits.
Proficiency in spoken and written English. This position is open exclusively to Zambian nationals residing in Ndola or the Copperbelt, in compliance with local employment regulations.
Preferred Skills and Industry Knowledge Experience with slurry, knife gate, control, or pinch valves used in mineral processing. Familiarity with leading valve brands such as Masoneilan (Baker Hughes), Fisher, Flowserve, Weir, and Metso.
