About the role
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and ambitious individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Paralegal (Intern). This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about the legal field and eager to gain practical, hands-on experience in a busy legal environment. No prior law firm experience is required; we will provide full training to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the preparation, drafting (under supervision), filing, and organisation of legal documents and correspondence (e.g., contracts, pleadings, briefs).
- Organize and manage client case files, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained and easily accessible.
- Perform general administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling client inquiries.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact between clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders, ensuring professional and timely communication.
- Conduct basic legal research using online databases and resources to support attorneys on various cases.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the practice.
Minimum Requirements
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
- Matric.
- Paralegal Diploma, Higher Certificate in Law, or relevant qualification is highly advantageous.
Skills- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A strong work ethic and character, with a professional and mature attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
