About the Role – Mechanical Supervisor Jobs in Kalumbila Reporting to the Coordinator, Mechanical, you will lead the mechanical maintenance function within the Backend & HPL section of the Engineering Department. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and efficient execution of mechanical maintenance and installation work that complies with statutory regulations and company standards.

This is a full-time position focused on maintaining operational excellence and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, as well as legal and company regulations.

Operate within the legal framework of Zambia and participate actively in HSE programs. Develop and implement safe working procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Supervise and participate in maintenance activities to optimize equipment performance and plant reliability. Schedule and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance using computerized management systems.

Maintain accurate records and reports on maintenance activities, equipment condition, and component wear. Provide hands-on technical guidance and leadership to maintenance personnel to maximize efficiency and control costs.

Identify and report plant design issues and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Enforce housekeeping standards and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.

Manage team performance through coaching, feedback, and training development. Perform additional duties as required to support operational goals.

Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related Trade Certificate. Membership or registration with EIZ and ERB.

Proficiency with PRONTO or similar enterprise and maintenance management systems. Minimum five years’ experience in maintenance operations within heavy industry or concentrator plants.

At least two years of supervisory or leadership experience, supported by relevant training. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyze technical data and generate clear maintenance performance reports. Computer literate, with the ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and piping drawings.

Valid Light Vehicle Driver’s License. All qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
