About the Logistics Officer Position The Logistics Officer will play a critical role in coordinating daily transport operations for staff, equipment, and field teams. You will oversee vehicle allocation, scheduling, and manage relationships with drivers and transport providers, ensuring all logistics activities align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities for Logistics Officer Jobs in Lusaka Coordinate daily transport arrangements for personnel and equipment across field, regional, technical, and commercial operations. Manage vehicle allocation, trip scheduling, and liaise with drivers and external transport providers.

Maintain comprehensive vehicle and logistics asset registers, including individual vehicle documentation. Oversee vehicle acquisition processes, registration, handover, disposal, and replacement activities.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules; coordinate vehicle repairs efficiently. Ensure compliance with vehicle licensing, insurance, inspections, and safety regulations.

Monitor fuel consumption, investigate discrepancies, and report on fleet operating costs. Manage relationships with logistics suppliers and support regional teams regarding fleet and transport controls.

Assist with incident investigations and insurance claims related to fleet operations. Promote safe driving practices and maintain strict control over vehicle keys and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline. Professional certification in logistics, supply chain, or fleet management is advantageous.

Three to five years of relevant experience in logistics, fleet, transport, facilities, or operations administration. Experience in multi-site or field-based environments is preferred.

Proven experience managing vehicle records, maintenance schedules, supplier contracts, insurance, licensing, and statutory compliance. Familiarity with budget management, quotations, purchase orders, and invoice processing.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications. Knowledge of ERP, fleet, or asset management systems is a plus.

Valid Driver’s Licence with practical understanding of vehicle operations and maintenance. Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and attention to detail skills.

Ability to perform under pressure and respond promptly to urgent operational needs. High integrity and sound judgment in managing company assets and supplier relationships.
