About the Role – Logistics Officer Jobs in Lusaka As a Logistics Officer at BGS, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating transport services for staff, equipment, and field teams. Your responsibilities will include managing vehicle allocation, scheduling trips, overseeing drivers and third-party transport providers, and responding promptly to urgent transport needs.

You will also maintain accurate records for vehicles and logistics assets, support procurement and disposal activities, and ensure all maintenance and compliance requirements are met. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily transport operations for personnel and equipment across field, regional, technical, and commercial units.

Maintain and reconcile the vehicle and logistics asset register with regular physical verifications. Support vehicle procurement from specification and quotation stages through delivery, registration, and handover.

Manage preventive maintenance schedules, liaise with approved workshops, and review service quotations and invoices to reduce downtime. Ensure compliance by tracking vehicle licences, insurance, inspections, and supporting incident investigations and insurance claims.

Monitor fuel consumption relative to mileage, investigate discrepancies, and report on fleet operating costs and budgets. Manage relationships with logistics suppliers and provide regional teams with consistent fleet and transport controls.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications in logistics or fleet management are advantageous.

3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, fleet, transport, facilities, or operations administration, preferably in a multi-site or field-based setting. Proven hands-on experience managing vehicle records, maintenance scheduling, supplier relations, insurance, licensing, and statutory compliance.

Proficiency with budgets, quotations, purchase orders, and invoice processing. Strong skills in Excel and MS Office; experience with ERP, fleet, or asset management systems is a plus.

Valid driver’s licence with practical knowledge of vehicle operations and maintenance. Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and attention-to-detail skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond swiftly to urgent operational demands. High integrity and sound judgment in managing company assets and supplier relationships.
