Full-Time Lecturer – School of Nursing at Chreso University Chreso University, located in Lusaka, Zambia, is seeking qualified candidates for lecturer jobs in Lusaka to fill the vacant position of Full-Time Lecturer in the School of Nursing.
This role is based at the City Campus and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to nursing education through teaching, research, and academic leadership. Position Overview The Full-Time Lecturer will play a pivotal role in delivering quality nursing education by engaging in teaching, research, curriculum development, student mentorship, and academic administration.
The successful candidate will support the university’s mission to provide outstanding higher education and foster innovation in nursing practice. Key Responsibilities for Lecturer Jobs in Lusaka Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and clinical instruction in assigned nursing courses.
Develop comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, and learning resources aligned with university standards. Prepare, administer, and grade continuous assessments, examinations, and other student evaluations.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, dissertations, and clinical practice placements. Participate actively in curriculum development, review, and enhancement of academic programs.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements from the Higher Education Authority (HEA), Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA), and General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNCZ). Conduct scholarly research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Engage in consultancy, community outreach, and other university service activities. Provide academic guidance, counseling, and mentorship to nursing students.
Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university committees and quality assurance processes. Maintain accurate academic records and prepare reports as needed.
Support academic planning, examination moderation, and graduation ceremonies. Promote professionalism, ethical conduct, and innovation in teaching and research.
Undertake additional academic duties as assigned by the Head of Department or Dean. Qualifications and Experience Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Master’s Degree in Nursing specializing in one of the following areas:
Maternal Child Health with Midwifery Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Public Health Nursing Paediatrics Nursing Or a closely related nursing specialization Valid practising licence and registration with the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNCZ).
At least three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and/or clinical experience. Proven ability to teach at the tertiary level.
Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and student supervision is an advantage. Strong research capabilities and academic writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. High integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Membership in a relevant professional body is preferred.
