Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Headmaster/Headmistress will provide strategic and operational leadership and will:
Provide visionary leadership to advance the school's mission of academic excellence and spiritual formation.
Oversee curriculum development and implementation, with a strong emphasis on STEM education.
Supervise teaching and non-teaching staff and promote effective teaching and learning practices.
Establish robust systems for monitoring and improving learner performance.
Manage school finances responsibly and in accordance with approved budgets, demonstrating strong stewardship of resources.
Maintain high standards of discipline and promote a positive, Christ-centred school culture.
Represent the school at official functions and maintain effective relationships with educational authorities, AVOH, parents, communities and other stakeholders.
Report directly to the STEM Board on academic and strategic matters and to the Director of Schools (AVOH) on administrative functions.
Key Requirements
A mature and personal faith in Jesus Christ, with the ability to lead from a Biblical worldview and a recommendation letter from your church.
At least five (5) years of successful experience in senior school leadership, preferably with experience in STEM education or curriculum development.
Preferably between 45 and 55 years old.
A relevant degree in Education Leadership, Educational Administration or a related field is highly desirable (A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage)
Strong knowledge of the ECZ curriculum is essential.
Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and effectively manage teaching and non-teaching staff.
Proven ability to build a positive, disciplined and high-achieving school culture.
Must be a mature, passionate and visionary leader who embodies the values of Excellence, Stewardship, Servant Leadership, Wholeness, Integrity and Love.
Must be a committed Evangelical Christian who can authentically integrate faith and learning, inspire staff and learners, and lead the school towards academic excellence and spiritual growth.
