Post 1: Harare Campus
Must be able to teach:
1. Introduction to Social Welfare;
2. Social Work and Management;
3. Social Policy and Administration;
4. Healthcare and Maladaptive Behaviour,
5. Integrated Social Work Methods.
Post 2: Bulawayo Campus
Must be able to teach:
1. Social Work Ethics and Values;
2. Social Work with Groups;
3. Industrial Social Work:
4. Social Work and Management;
5. Integrated Social Work.
Responsibilities / Key Tasks
Planning and reviewing course content;
Monitoring and improving students’ educational performance;
Preparing suitable participatory teaching materials:
Conducting lectures and seminars using student-centred methods:
Evaluating the effectiveness of the learning programme;
Supervising students on attachment;
Supervising student’s research projects;
Evaluating individual student performance and improving their performance; Assessing, evaluating and recording marks for students; and
Engage in university and community service, research, innovation and Industrialization
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
Master of Science in Social Work from a recognised University:
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Social Work from a recognised University;
Registration with Council of Social Workers;
Minimum of TWO years’ experience in a lectureship role at an institution of higher
learning.
The candidate must possess the following competencies:
Proven research abilities;
Proven Community engagement activities;
Strong communication and organizational skills;
Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; and
Ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy and to pay attention to detail.
