Role Overview for Coordinator Reliability Asset Management Jobs Solwezi The Coordinator – Asset Management plays a vital role in supporting the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of asset management across the Smelter.
This position focuses on monitoring asset performance, reporting asset health, lifecycle management, optimizing maintenance strategies, and leveraging data-driven decision-making to enhance equipment reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
The successful candidate will coordinate asset management activities, maintain asset integrity systems and databases, and collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, and Operations teams to maximize asset performance throughout the asset lifecycle.
This role directly supports achieving business objectives through asset optimization, risk reduction, and compliance with company standards. Key Responsibilities Support implementation and upkeep of the Smelter Asset Management Framework in partnership with the Group Asset Management Team.
Develop and maintain asset strategies for critical equipment and infrastructure. Monitor asset health and performance metrics to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Maintain accurate asset registers, hierarchy structures, and lifecycle records. Coordinate asset condition assessments and health reviews.
Support long-term asset replacement, refurbishment, and capital renewal planning. Assist with asset risk assessments and lifecycle cost analysis for optimization recommendations.
Ensure accurate asset data within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Support reliability improvement initiatives including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Develop and maintain asset performance dashboards and reports using Power BI and other tools. Contribute to maintenance strategy reviews and optimization for critical equipment.
Promote continuous improvement projects and cross-functional collaboration. Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and practices.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Certification in Asset Management or Reliability Engineering is advantageous.
Power BI or advanced analytics training is preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance, reliability, asset management, or engineering within the mining or mineral processing industry; smelter experience is a plus.
Proven experience developing and implementing asset management strategies and reliability improvement programs. Strong skills in data-driven reporting, asset performance monitoring, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., PRONTO, SAP) and digital asset management technologies. Proficient in MS Office applications and familiar with ISO 55000 Asset Management principles.
