The North Western Provincial Health Office, under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the positions listed below, to be employed on a ten (10) month contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

SALARY: A competitive package will be offered to successful candidates on a ten (10) month contract basis.

Job Purpose

To coordinate and strengthen community engagement in HIV, TB, and related health programs in order to improve health outcomes and promote sustainable partnerships between the District Health Office and communities.

Job Responsibilities

Community Engagement

  • Coordinates community mobilization and sensitization activities in order to enhance participation in health programs.

Case Identification

  • Facilitates community-level HIV/TB case identification and linkage to care in order to improve early diagnosis and treatment outcomes.

Treatment Support

  • Coordinates community-based HIV/TB treatment support, including adherence counselling and follow-ups, to improve retention in care.

Prevention Programs

  • Coordinates community-driven prevention programs in order to reduce new HIV/TB infections.

Partnerships & Networking

  • Builds and maintains partnerships with community leaders, CSOs, FBOs, and support groups in order to strengthen community health responses.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Coordinates community-level monitoring and reporting of HIV/TB activities in order to facilitate decision-making and program improvements.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate / Full Form V.
  • Diploma in Public Health, Community Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Community Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • At least three (3) years’ relevant experience in community health or development programs.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and local languages.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong interpersonal relations.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Negotiation and advocacy skills.
